It blows my mind that Sam is approaching six months of age. The little bundle that hardly moved and kept his eyes shut for long periods of time has turned into a arms-throwing, leg-kicking little being whose eyes follow you around the room and take in everything in the immediate environment. I love witnessing his development, like a thirsty blossuming flower in water, he appears to change before our eyes, waking up each morning a little longer and alittle stronger. His features are settling into his face and morphing from the face of a baby (although he never really looked like a newborn) into that of a little boy. Who is this child? Will he laugh like he does now or will the pitch and tone change over time? Will he be as easy-going as a toddler as he has been as a baby? His seriousness comes through, but his humor and silliness does as well. Getting to know him daily is one of the best gifts I can imagine, seeing how he is opening up to the world in all his Sam-ness.
